Bibliography

What goes in a bibliography and what goes in the end notes?

When writing a nonfiction book, how does one decide which sources to list in the bibliography and which sources to include in the end notes? Mom Knows Everything: Not true. Many authors use end notes to cite their work because it makes it easier for the reader to tell what source is being used. However, I have seen books that list some sources in a bibliography and others in the end notes.

  1. All sources must be listed in the bibliography. Endnotes are not for listing the sources you used. They are for explaining something that you don't want to go into further in the text. They are the same as footnotes, except for where they are placed.
