I have already read Harry Potter and the Twilight Series, so please suggest somthing else. Also while I will read such books and don't mind them, I am looking for something a little more advanced than the typical young adult/teen book. Any suggestions on books to read to 6 and 8 year old, classics or others? I prefer books that are upbeat where characters don't die or have lots of bad things happen to them. The 8 year old is a girl and the 6 year old is a boy. Hopefully the book would appeal to both of them. Thanks for any help.

What do you do with books that you have finished reading ? Do you leave them on the shelf to collect dust ? Sell them on e-bay ? Give them to friends and family ? Or give them to a charity shop ? Me, I do the first one and then after a year or 2 I do the fourth, I can't be bothered with trying to negotiate a decent price with second hand books store owners. Especially when they say... "I'm not looking to buy right now" and "I can only give you 30p per book" and "Oooh I've got a lot of copies of this one." I'd rather give the books to charity and feel good about myself.

What are the alternatives to selling books through Amazon for law reference books? I have a bunch of old(1-2 year old volumes) that are worth about 30 dollars a piece used. While these are good as new, they have been on the on my firms shelf for about a year. Are there places or websites that take these types of books for compensation? I have had them listed on Amazon for awhile now and no success. Note: These type of books are also for decoration appeal and could be considered decorative. On eBay they aren't selling because they are expensive and aren't in demand...generally. Thanks!
